The Young Woman Competition is not a beauty pageant; it’s about celebrating our special regional and rural women, building confidence and leadership skills.
If you are an amazing woman, please apply now. If you know an amazing young woman, encourage her to apply. More details will be provided to entrants.
There are Tiny-Tot (3-6 years), Junior (7-12 years), Teen (13-17 years) and Young Woman (18-25 years) categories. The Young Woman from each show goes on to compete in the zone finals and potentially at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The Young Woman competition seeks to inspire and develop the next generation of female leaders in rural and regional NSW. Formerly known as the Miss Showgirl Competition, it has a history of more than 60 years of celebrating leadership, community contribution and a passion for agriculture. More than a title, the competition builds confidence and capability, developing ambassadors who represent their communities and rural NSW with pride.
This year Bungendore and Queanbeyan Shows have come together to celebrate and support our region’s incredible young women.
The 2026 Young Womens Competition has now been judged. Come to the show and head to the main stage at 11:00 AM to find out who won, and to cheer on the winners as they receive their official sashes.
