The Young Woman Competition is not a beauty pageant; it’s about celebrating our special regional and rural women, building confidence and leadership skills.

There are Tiny-Tot (3-6 years), Junior (7-12 years), Teen (13-17 years) and Young Woman (18-25 years) categories. The Young Woman from each show goes on to compete in the zone finals and potentially at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The Young Woman competition seeks to inspire and develop the next generation of female leaders in rural and regional NSW. Formerly known as the Miss Showgirl Competition, it has a history of more than 60 years of celebrating leadership, community contribution and a passion for agriculture. More than a title, the competition builds confidence and capability, developing ambassadors who represent their communities and rural NSW with pride.
This year Bungendore and Queanbeyan Shows have come together to celebrate and support our region’s incredible young women.
Judging for all age groups will take place on 27 September 2026 at Queanbeyan. While all entrants are judged on the same day, each town will have its own separate winners.
The Young Woman and Teen results will be announced on the evening, while the junior aged group winners will be announced at their respective shows.
