HERE’S HOW THE RACE IS RUN….
WHERE:On the main arena at the Bungendore Show Grounds, right in front of the main show pavilion.
WHEN: Approximately 2.00pm. Entries will be taken during the Pet Parade and just prior to the event. Announcements will be made during the Show.
Entry Fee: $2.00
HOW THE RACE WILL WORK:
For this event you require your fastest pet dog and a friend. One person (person A) will hold the dog at one end of a marked race track while the other person (person B) backs away from the dog until they are standing on the finish line. Person B can call the dog as they walk away and can even have doggy treats, all in the name of enticing the dog, once the starter’s flag drops, to quickly race towards person B. The first dog across the finish line wins. Heats may be held, depending on the number of entrants. Heats likely to be categorised by dog size (ie small, medium and large dogs). Dogs causing interference during a heat or final with other dogs will be eliminated.
PRIZES:
- Rosettesfor 1st, 2nd, and 3rdin the heats.
- Product and trophy for the winner of the final.
- Product and medallion for 2nd& 3rdin the final.
- Product for wooden spooner (dog that crosses the finish line last in the final)
All animals must be restrained and under TOTAL control by their handlers AT ALL TIMES to prevent accident or injury.
All purebreds and crossbreds may compete for prizes.
IF YOUR DOG HAS A TENDENCY TO BITE STRANGE DOGS, THEN PLEASE DO NOT ENTER IT INTO THIS EVENT.
WE WANT NO INJURY OR DOG ARGUMENTS!
