Are you a member of a local organisation seeking to raise some funds?
Then enter a team in the Jack Fletcher GM Memorial Tug-O-War Competiton.
The 4th LTCOL Jack Fletcher GM Memorial Tug- of -War Competition for 2012 will be conducted at the 2012 Bungendore Show on 29 Jan 12.
The event commemorates the life and community service of LTCOL Jack Fletcher GM. Jack Fletcher served 31 years in the Army, the last eight in the Reserves. After leaving the Army he continued his service to the community and became Chief Superintendent in the Commonwealth Police - the forerunner to the Australian Federal Police.
Jack settled in Bungendore and was a long time member of the Bungendore Show Society until his passing in November 2008. His widow, Margaret, approached the Bungendore Show Society with a proposal to run a tug –of war competition at the 2009 Bungendore Show as a memorial to Jack.
The LTCOL Jack Fletcher GM - Memorial Tug- of -War Competition is a wonderful opportunity for community groups to participate in celebrating Jack's life and in competing for the prize of $500 for 2012. The only condition attached to the prize is that it is contributed to a charity or to a worthy community cause.
A successful event would be a fitting tribute to Jack and the Show Committee would like as many community-based teams as possible to participate.
