2012 Bungendore Showgirl

Jennifer Darmody is the 2012 Bungendore Showgirl. The Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Showgirl Competition aims to find a young woman to act as an ambassador for rural NSW with her role involving many official and informal duties both at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and during her travels within NSW and overseas.

The contestants are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech. Finalists are also asked to demonstrate knowledge of their local community and current affairs and apart from their potential ambassadorial qualities, contestants are also judged on their involvement in and experience of rural affairs.

“I look forward to being involved in the organisation of the 2013 show. After such a long involvement by my family in these events I feel especially encouraged to play a part in ensuring these important community events continue to run.” said Jennifer when she was sashed at the formal ceremony on Show Day by Bungendore Show Society President, Bob Robertson.

Jennifer now takes part in the Zone judging competition, to be held this year in Nimmitabel. “I am confident Jennifer will be a very worthy representative for Bungendore and the entire Show Committee wishes her the best for the Zone judging.” said Bob.
